Welcome to Dance Weekend

Are you ready to enjoy a weekend filled with dance? Kuopio Dance Festival organizes a weekend course including different dance and wellbeing classes and dance performances with Element Studio. The program for the weekend is tailored so that you can focus just on taking care of yourself. For this course you don’t need any dancing experience! With our charismatic and professional staff, we’ll make sure that the weekend meets our high quality standard and you can concentrate purely on enjoying. So prepare to throw your everyday troubles away and focus just on your wellbeing!

Class descriptions

BalletMOVE-helps to build flexibility and balance of the body and it raises heart rate with basic ballet exercises.

In AIR-stretching the stretches are supported with cloths hanging from the ceiling. This gives a chance to deepen the stretches without the pressure from the floor.

Lavis is classic ballroom dances with an easy, fun and sporty twist. You don’t need a dance partner for this class!

Pilates Core Strenght - Core Stability - Mind-Body exercise. The main focus of Pilates is on your core muscles. It's a safe and sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness and good posture.

Dynamic Stretching Dynamic and active stretching makes your body strong and flexible. While working in the rythm of breathing you will make your metabolism run and your body wakes up for the upcoming day!

Dance&Jam is fun and sweaty combination of different dancestyle rhythms and steps; for example latin dances, jazz and afro dance. Easy choreocraphics will raise the pulse and improves muscular strenght. You don´t need any previous dance experience.

Relaxing breathing and deep stretching practises lead you to conscious and approving presence with your body and mind.

Accommodation

There are many options for accommodation near Element Studio, for example Original Sokos Hotel Puijonsarvi and Hotel Jahtihovi (both approximately 300meters away). Hotel Cumulus City Centre is located in the middle of the city centrum, approximately 600 meters from Element Studio. All three of the hotels are also a short walking distance away from the Kuopio City Theatre and Music Centre venues. Prices for the rooms vary from 150 € to 250 € per night.

Lunch

Lunch for Saturday and Sunday are included in the price of Dance Weekend. On both days lunch is served in Restaurant Kreeta, which locates just beside Element Studio. There are both meat and vegetarian options to choose from, but we advise you to inform us in advance for any allergies or special requests.
