Kuopio Dance Festival’s course programme is even more versatile than before

Kuopio Dance Festival offers a versatile selection of courses for dancers of all ages and levels. There are numerous traditional but also new courses from contemporary dance to ballet and Latin dances.

”Ballet for adults have been requested, and this year there will be more ballet classes than before for all levels”, producer Sirpa Miettinen says.

There are many international dances among the course selection. You will get to know for example K-Pop, Cuban rhytms, Persian or Iraqi dance.

Some of the festival’s performers share their expertise in courses. There are Italian Cristiana Morganti, Lewis Cooke who performs at Helsinki Dance Company’s Special Night, and Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie professionals Nils Andren and Bianca Locatelli teaching.

In addition to dance classes, the selection also includes body care classes such as pilates, mobility training and TRE (trauma and tension releasing exercises) stressrelieving exercises under the guidance of the well-known comedian Teemu Vesterinen.

”For the festival it is important to offer a variety of courses for different target groups. The joy of dancing belongs to everyone”, Miettinen says.

A tip for registration:

We recommend registering for the courses well in advance, as the most popular courses fill up quickly.

There is also a Festival pass for those who act fast: when you pay the course by 30.4., you’ll get yourself a pass, which gives you great benefits for the festivals performances.
