Participants will discover Jacopo Godani´s choreographic work:
Searching for a state of physicality, bringing more clarity and awareness into the perceptual experience of a choreographic situation – key-question for those artists involved at work with the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company,
Applying deliberately choreographic decisions and organic intuitions,
Fighting against randomness, unconsciousness and automatic reactions. The perception of this fight is a determining presence on Godani´s choreographies. When a choreographic decision is made without awareness in the process, there is a lack of information; there are mechanics, structures, coordination, etc. that are being lost. To avoid this lacking, priorities and qualities are communicated explicitly in rehearsal. Textures, speed, and visual focuses in the choreography, are agreed upon and made conscious even before starting the current physical work.
Values such as individuality, group work, responsibility, awareness and reception of advance knowledge collect a new meaning in this artistic environment – shaping through the creative process the outcome of the group itself.
A process of building up scenes with choreographic actions, with which there is a process installed to break down mental patterns and habits – making participants aware agents of this situation.
Participants will experience how this basis can be applied in a much more broaden sense, improving their relationship and their knowledge with movement, dance and choreography art.
