Dance Pavilion is an excellent meeting place during the festival 

This year Kuopio’s Market Square has even more programme than before: there is a Dance Pavilion being set up for the first time. 

Pavilion is a place, where you can dance and gather with friends. There are restaurant services and as well as the festival’s information desk and shop. Our signature drink and a special Kuopio Dance Festival-menu are also available in the Pavilion. 

“There has been a request for a meeting place in a central location during the festival, so this year we decided to respond to the wishes. Pavilion is an excellent place to gather before or after the performances, or to enjoy the dance atmosphere otherwise,” says Salima Peippo, the executive director of Kuopio Dance Festival. 

The mornings in Dance Pavilion start with artist interviews of the main program’s choreographers. On Wednesday 14^th there will be a opening party, on Thursday and Monday we’ll get to dance to familiar and beloved songs at the Elämänlämpö-Social Dances, accompanied by the Matti Halmetvaara Trio. 

Every evening there is live music with different themes, such as such as Salsa parties, Rock&Swing parties and Retrodisco. 

Entrance to the Pavilion is free.
