Our main international programme is put together by the festival’s artistic director Riku Lehtopolku. The festival programme is announced each year in January.

Be a performer in free admission programmes
Kuopio Dance Festival events at Kauppatori and the Music Centre’s Hall of Light are the most memorable moments of the summer for many festival-goers. These events are free to the public and attract thousands of spectators every year.
Call for performers for Elo-Forum and Savonia stage is open 5th January to 30th April.
We are looking for dance, music and theatre enthusiasts and students to perform in the free programme. The programme aims to encourage and support people from different creative disciplines and to provide art for all.
Dance Pavilion
The Dance Pavilion is ideal for musicians or workshops. Do you want to come and lead a dance session to promote your organization? Or do you know a starting musician who would be suitable to dance the festival crowd?
There is no separate application form for Dance Pavilion. If you are interested in performing or running a dance workshop at Dance Pavilion.

Performers in the free access programme can collect their festival passes from the festival information points from the first day of the event. By showing your festival pass to a ticket agent, you can get your ticket for half price. The discount only applies to same-day performances and if seats are still available. The festival pass cannot be used to buy tickets online.
Apply to be a performer in the market programme or in the Music Centre’s Hall of Light. The application will open in January 2024.
