VERTIGO DANCE COMPANY Israel

YAMA chor. Noa Wertheim

Vertigo Dance Company from Israel paints a fragile picture on the scene in Yama.

Exploring human ecological footprint, dependency and the capacity to regenerate, choreographer Noa Wertheim observes the source of each movement and its effect on the environment through this inspiring piece. It says to be an intensive, almost spiritual experience.

"These fine dancers fascinatingly chisel their way through the motion emphasizing the most subtle nuances… the aesthetics of this piece invoke utmost appreciation to Wertheim's professional skills", wrote Ruth Esthel in her critique (HaAretz, Feb. 5, 2016) after the world premiere. And we surely do agree with her!

Vertigo Dance Company, founded by Adi Sha’al and Noa Wertheim in 1992, has established a unique presence in the contemporary dance scene worldwide, developing a distinct artistic language challenging the limits of the human body and awareness while emphasizing the link between Art and Earth.

This is the company’s first visit to Finland.
